Selective Oxidation of Isobutane to Methacrylic Acid and Methacrolein: A Critical Review

چکیده
Selective oxidation of isobutane to methacrolein (MAC) and methacrylic acid (MAA) has received great interest both in the chemical industry academic research. The advantages this reaction originate not only from low cost starting material reduced process complexity, but also limiting use toxic reactants production wastes. Successive studies reports have shown that heteropolycompounds (HPCs) with Keggin structure (under form partially neutralized acids increased stability) can selectively convert MAA MAC due their strong tunable acidity redox properties. This review hence aims discuss Keggin-type HPCs been used recent years catalyze MAC, alternative metal oxides proper properties for same reaction. In addition, influence main conditions will be discussed.

Selective Oxidation of Xylenes to Toluic Acids
A mixture of manganese, cobalt and lead para-amino benzoates supported on silica gel is used to catalyze oxidation of xylenes to toluic acids in presence of oxygen or air. Reactions are clean and catalysts can be recovered easily and reused.
